Dear Friends,

There are some birthdays that invite us to look back. Andy’s 95th invites us to look ahead.

When we began talking about this celebration, Andy smiled and said the theme should be “We Have Only Just Begun.” That simple phrase says everything about the way he has lived his life, after 95 remarkable years, he wakes up believing there is more work to do, more people to encourage, and more hope to share.

It has been one of the greatest blessings of my life to watch Andy dedicate himself to serving others. Whether marching for civil rights, representing our nation abroad, mentoring young leaders, feeding the hungry, or simply offering a kind word to someone in need, he has always believed that each of us has the power to make tomorrow better than today, if we are anchored in God.

What I admire most is that Andy never spends much time talking about what he has accomplished. Instead, he asks, “What’s next?” His optimism, faith, and belief in people continue to inspire everyone fortunate enough to know him.

This 95th celebration is more than a birthday, it is an opportunity to bring together family, friends, and partners who have shared in Andy’s journey and who believe, as he does, that peace, justice, freedom, opportunity, and compassion can change lives.

The Andrew J. Young Foundation carries that vision forward every day through its work in food security, education, health, peace, and global economic development. Your support allows that work-and Andy’s legacy of service–to continue for generations to come.
